Yonezawa Ori, a traditional Japanese weaving technique with over 250 years of history.
It was initiated as part of an industrial promotion by the ninth lord of the Yonezawa domain, Uesugi Yozan.
Yonezawa Ori uses natural silk yarns and creates a variety of textures in the fabric by using different yarns,
such as Tsumugi silk, which is made from hand-drawn raw silk, and fabrics made from heavily twisted yarns.

Yonezawa Ori uses a variety of dyeing techniques, including natural dyes such as safflower
(the prefectural flower of Yamagata), chestnut, indigo, and pomegranate, as well as synthetic dyes.
This weaving tradition, nurtured by the history and climate of Yonezawa in Yamagata Prefecture,
offers a unique experience of Japanese culture and craftsmanship.
