[MIZEN + HOZONO] Haneda Airport Pop-up @JMC
To all our valued MIZEN supporters,
We are pleased to announce that from Wednesday, September 17 to Tuesday, October 14, 2025, MIZEN will be hosting a limited-time pop-up event at the "Japan Mastery Collection (JMC)" select shop, located in the duty-free area after departure procedures in Haneda Airport Terminal 3.
For this special occasion, we have transformed the area adjacent to the permanent JMC space into a fully immersive MIZEN environment, offering exclusive experiences.
Featured prominently is our signature item, the KIMONO Knit Square Cape, newly named “KAMUI,” along with coats and dresses not typically available at Haneda’s JMC location.
We are also delighted to reunite with woodcraft artist Junichi Hozono, whose 2023 collaboration received great acclaim.
This time, he presents new art pieces and accessories themed around “Water of Prayer,” combining Yakusugi cedar, camphor, and other woods from Kagoshima with the traditional mud-dyeing techniques used in authentic Amami Ōshima tsumugi textiles.
Each piece is a one-of-a-kind creation, resonating with the spirit of the wood and the warmth of handcraftsmanship.
Designer Molly will also be present as much as possible during the event, personally welcoming guests and offering styling suggestions tailored to each individual.
Whether you're traveling or simply passing through, we invite you to stop by and explore our offerings in the duty-free area—perfect for gifts or personal keepsakes.
We hope you’ll experience the stories hidden within the “spaces between” that each piece quietly conveys.
We truly look forward to seeing you there.

COLLECTION

At the beginning of your journey, the world of MIZEN quietly unfolds.
Within the space of "Japan Mastery Collection," the craftsmanship and stories of artisans come to life.
Bathed in soft light and framed by gentle wooden curves, it offers a tranquil setting where you can encounter the essence of Japanese aesthetics.
This time, we present a special coordination that brings together MIZEN’s creations and the woodwork art of Junichi Hozono.
Garments and handcrafted objects resonate with one another, creating a one-of-a-kind experience born from the intersection of materials and technique.
The “ma”—the intentional space within the environment—gently draws out personal stories from each visitor.
A dedicated corner showcases MIZEN’s signature item, newly named “KAMUI.”
This piece fuses two contrasting materials—stretchable knit and structured kimono fabric—using the highest level of sewing craftsmanship known as “linking.”
KAMUI was awarded the 2024 Good Design Award for its structurally universal design, which utilizes the standardized width of kimono textiles, allowing compatibility with fabrics from any region in Japan.
Rather than placing design at the forefront, this cape is shaped to highlight the materials and techniques themselves.
It stands as a symbol of MIZEN’s philosophy: “Technique takes center stage.”
We invite you to enjoy the rich expressions created by the interplay of kimono patterns and knit colors—each combination offering a unique presence that gently resonates with the wearer’s sensibility.

In this special occasion, alongside MIZEN’s creations, the space is also adorned with art pieces by woodcraft artist Junichi Hozono, enveloping the venue in a distinct atmosphere unlike any before.
We offer a variety of coordinated styles that harmonize materials and form—such as pairing KIMONO knit accessories like the Tie Double and Mini Tie with Hozono’s works.
Enjoy the quiet yet powerful dialogue of beauty born from the resonance between clothing and craft.
A selection of one-of-a-kind pieces, available only here, invites travelers to pause and explore.
In this space where the stories woven into garments and handcrafted objects intersect, we hope you’ll discover a piece that speaks to your own sensibility.
KOSHIRAERU by Junichi Hozono
Based in Kirishima City, Kagoshima Prefecture, KOSHIRAERU is a wood carving brand led by sculptor Junichi Hozono.
Guided by the philosophy of “shifting from thinking time to feeling time,” Hozono creates works that embrace the natural texture and grain of wood.
His creations span a wide range—from accessories and cutlery to art pieces—pursuing expressions that incorporate local natural materials and traditional techniques.
For Hozono, carving wood is not merely a form of shaping, but an act imbued with prayer.
He believes that graceful gestures in the making process give rise to new landscapes.
Through exhibitions both in Japan and abroad, including presentations at airports, he continues to share art that connects nature and people.

“KISUI – Black Collection” by KOSHIRAERU
Each sculptural piece in this collection is born from a dialogue with the grain of the wood—truly one of a kind.
Crafted from Yakusugi cedar, camphor, and tabunoki sourced from Kagoshima, the works are finished using traditional mud-dyeing techniques.
Inspired by motifs such as flowing water and birds in flight, the accessories and art pieces highlight the unique character of each wood, ensuring no two are ever the same.
These creations embody gestures of prayer and movement.
When worn, they harmonize with nature and quietly weave stories into everyday life.

「余白を楽しむプロジェクト」
A Project to Interpret the Unseen
