MIZEN POP-UP @ Hankyu MEN’S TOKYO

From August 20 (Wed) to 26 (Tue), 2025,
MIZEN will host a pop-up event at the Main Base on the 1st floor of Hankyu MEN’S TOKYO.

This special occasion marks the debut of MIZEN’s very first T-shirt.
While simple in form, it retains the distinctive MIZEN touch in its details,
bringing to life an idea we have been nurturing for many years as an everyday essential.
The first release will be available in two sizes (women’s and men’s) as a limited release.

In addition, our popular unisex KIMONO Knit Square Cape—now bearing the affectionate name KAMUI—
offers a wide range of styling possibilities. You will also find a men’s lineup
that includes neckties and cotton/linen shirts designed for effortless daily wear,
along with a women’s collection featuring pieces such as a short shirt blouson suitable for all seasons.

Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to create a truly one-of-a-kind piece—
such as a coat or cape—by pairing your preferred kimono fabric with our designs.
We invite you to visit the venue and experience firsthand the stories that dwell within the “space” (余白/ yohaku) each creation conveys.

KIMONO Knit Square Cape- KAMUI
Honba Oshima Tsumugi Hanatatsugo Ⅳ – Mud-Dyed
* Made to order
The KIMONO Knit Square Cape unites two contrasting materials,
stretchable knit and non-stretch kimono fabric seamlessly integrated through linking,
the pinnacle of knitting and sewing techniques.

By utilizing the standard fabric width(about 38cm) shared by all kimono across Japan,
its design achieves a structural universality that allows it to be created from any region’s woven textile.
This innovation was recognized with the 2024 Good Design Award.

Shaped not to place the design itself at the forefront, but to elevate the materials and craftsmanship,
this cape embodies MIZEN’s guiding philosophy: “Technology Takes the Lead.”

In an industry where mass production is the norm, it stands out as a rare model made with meticulous attention,
one piece at a time. Customers can select their preferred combination of knit color and kimono fabric
to commission a truly one-of-a-kind garment.
This possibility is the result of a deep and enduring relationship of trust
born from the factory’s mission to “showcase craftsmanship” and MIZEN’s commitment to “design thinking.”

Minimal in appearance yet rich with narrative, it is a signature MIZEN piece
a true masterpiece"KAMUI" for “A Project to Interpret the Unseen.”

Single-Layer Coat / Men’s & Women’s
Ushikubi Tsumugi – Yarn-Dyed Solid Black (Men’s Fabric) / Full Mother-of-Pearl Inlay
*Made to order

A bold model that unites seemingly contradictory elements in a single garment
constructed with the structure of a jacket, light as a shirt, and worn like a coat.

Crafted without facings, the coat remains thin and supple, with floating interlining applied
only in areas where structure is necessary, each piece hand-stitched in place.

Distinctive details include original metal plates inserted into the front opening and original buckles at the belt ends.

As an option, the cuffs and lapels can be finished with luxurious mother-of-pearl inlay, available in different variations.

Slash Tie / Men’s
Raden textile – MIZEN Logo Check, Navy

Neckties are generally cut at a 45-degree bias to the fabric’s lengthwise grain.
When using narrow-width fabric(33cm), this results in more seams and lower efficiency,
which is why ties made from kimono fabric are uncommon.

MIZEN explored ways to create a tie from kimono fabric that could be enjoyed by more people.
As proof that it is tailored from authentic kimono fabric, the seam created by
the diagonal cut is placed in the most visible position as a “slash,”
and presented as the MIZEN NeckTie (trademark registered).

This expresses MIZEN’s philosophy of placing craftsmanship at the forefront.

Woven with shell inlay (“Raden Textile”) and metallic thread in a check pattern featuring the MIZEN logo,
this tie adds elegance to both daily wear and special occasions, and is also ideal as a gift.

A Project to Interpret the Unseen
