MIZEN TOKYO Atelier + Showroom
is MIZEN’s renewed brand home,
where atelier and boutique exist as one,
inviting visitors to experience the essence of craftsmanship and creation.

ABOUT

A single image composed of two stacked photographs. The top shows a large natural wood table with flowering branches in a dark space. The bottom shows fabric rolls and paper patterns laid out on a long worktable representing the kimono making process.

The renewed MIZEN TOKYO Atelier + Showroom
is a space where the atelier and the showroom coexist as one.
This reflects our belief that MIZEN’s creations are born through human involvement—
through technique and the act of making—
and that this process itself is an essential part of their value.

As MIZEN reimagined itself, we returned to a fundamental question:
In the era ahead, where does the true value of clothing come from?
Our answer lies not only in the finished product, but in the process—
touching the materials, understanding how garments are made,
and sensing the presence and daily work of the people involved in their creation.

At MIZEN TOKYO Atelier + Showroom,
the place where garments are presented and the place where they are born are seamlessly connected.
Just steps away from where clothing is displayed,
materials are handled, prototypes are developed, and garments gradually take shape.
This closeness—
the ability to feel the quiet presence of creation as it happens—
is the unique story and experience of MIZEN.

EXPERIENCE

An experience that goes beyond purchasing clothing—
inviting you to engage with materials, techniques,
and the stories behind craftsmanship.

A close up of a craftsperson’s hands carefully pulling and aligning a fine thread over green fabric. The image shows a delicate preparation step in textile making.

Experiencing Textile Origins and Craftsmanship

You are invited to handle the textiles delivered directly from our partner regions,
while we share the stories rooted in the land where each fabric is created.
It is an experience of engaging with cloth itself—
before choosing a garment.

A row of capes made from kimono fabric hanging on a rack showing variations in color and pattern. Indigo tones and gradients highlight the range of designs.

Ready-to-Wear Purchases

You may view and purchase MIZEN’s ready-to-wear collections.
Along with each garment, we carefully share the stories behind the traditional techniques, materials, and advanced tailoring that give shape to our creations.

Rows of colorful industrial thread cones neatly arranged on a shelf. Lighter tones are in the foreground, fading into more vibrant colors in the background.

Made-to-Order Creations

We offer made-to-order garments that combine MIZEN’s signature silhouettes
with materials personally selected by you, resulting in a truly one-of-a-kind piece.

Orders are available for both:
-Woven Fabric Series
-KIMONO Knit Series

Please note that certain material and design combinations may not be possible.
Made-to-order pieces are offered at a premium price compared to standard ready-to-wear items.

Close-up of hands drawing lines over fabric on pattern paper using a ruler and marker. Sewing tools and a tailor’s pen are scattered around.

Kimono Remaking

We carefully take apart cherished kimono,
carrying forward their materials and memories,
and reimagine them as new forms of attire through MIZEN’s design language.

Introduction to Partner Workshops in Production Regions

Building on the experience at the MIZEN space,
we may, upon request, introduce visitors to workshops and ateliers in our partner production regions.
By learning about the places where materials are born,
one’s relationship with clothing becomes deeper and more personal.
Please note that some locations may not be available for visits,
depending on the region and the season.
In Ishikawa Prefecture’s Hakusan City, MIZEN has established a collaborative store with Ushikubi Tsumugi,
where visitors can experience the atmosphere of the region and engage with craftsmanship through atelier visits and hands-on experiences.
