MIZEN COLLECTION Vo.1 MIZEN BLUE ~SHO~
MIZEN embodies the philosophy that "The essense of luxury in the depth of human interactions.
" It is a project aimed at building a luxury brand where craftsmen, masters of Japan's traditional techniques,
play a starring role.
MIZEN designs these traditional techniques into contemporary lifestyle products,
proposing them not only to Japan but to the world.
This elevates the status of skilled craftsmen and enhances the sustainability of their industries.
In February 2023, This collaboration organized by MIZEN features Kurume-kasuri
(a Traditional Craft from Fukuoka Prefecture) and ARLNATA,
a brand that creates collections using luxury tsumugi, lead by former HERMÈS designer Shunsuke Teranishi.
In this collaboration, we will present the collection tailored from original fabrics created for
MIZEN Project Vol.1, MIZEN BLUE~SHO(VICTORY)~ Dragonfly-pattern,
directly with local supplier SAKATA ORIMONO, SHIMOGAWA ORIMONO and NOMURA ORIMONO.
This time MIZEN Gallery interior is designed by globally renowned floral artist Naoki Sasaki,
whose work resonates with MIZEN's mission to reinvent and promote the new value of traditional craftsmanship.

ARLNATA's first front zipper jacket in a mannish style,
using the full width of the fabric for a single cut pattern from front to back.
The back features a lace knit tape, an original ARLNATA creation,
with a men's version available with a different front design.

A style that can be worn both as a shirt coat and a one-piece dress.
It features short, wide cuffs that become a prominent accent when folded back.
The body hem is switched at a 90-degree angle, and side slits are also a feature.
When worn open as a coat, it presents a mannish impression,
and when buttoned with the belt tied, it gains a feminine aspect, making it a versatile garment.

KURUME KASURI
Kurume Kasuri, a cotton textile produced throughout the Chikugo region in southern Fukuoka Prefecture,
is named for its unique blurred ("Kasuri" in Japanese) patterns that emerge when woven.
Originally, cotton fabrics were sturdy and primarily used as work clothes,
often handwoven in each household. Traditionally plain, about 200 years ago,
a farmer's daughter accidentally discovered a technique to create delicate patterns in the fabric,
now known as Kasuri (Ikat). This method, called Tying,
involves dyeing cotton yarn bundles in a pattern before weaving.
This creates subtle misalignments, resulting in distinctive blurred patterns.
